It’s important for parents to keep their children healthy and strong. But did you know that you’ll need to keep your child’s mouth healthy if you’re hoping to help them stay healthy overall? To do so, you’ll have to visit a dentist regularly—but did you know when you should schedule your child’s first appointment?

We recommend scheduling your little one’s appointment about six months after their first tooth erupts—or when they’re about a year old. While your child may not need care when they’re a year old, starting dental care early can help your child adjust to dental visits.

Aside from helping your child become more comfortable with visiting a dentist, we’ll be happy to address any questions you might have. We’ll also help your child start to understand dental terminology. We’ll also inspect your child’s mouth for signs that could lead to trouble, and offer you personalized advice on caring for your children’s teeth.

If you’re interested in learning more about what will happen during your first appointment with us, please don’t hesitate to give Tatum & Cox a call at 334-745-6393. Dr. Crawford A. Tatum Jr. and our team will be happy to answer any questions you have and address any of your concerns. We’re eager to hear from you soon.
